terms and conditions of hire

Costumes must be returned with no unauthorised alterations to either costume or accessories.

Costumes must be returned in the same condition in which they were hired (i.e. no burn marks, stains or splits etc) and complete with all accessories. A charge will be made for any items which are lost, damaged or excessively soiled.

Costumes must be returned by the arranged day, within the shop opening hours.

The return date is not flexible. For every day late a fee of £5 per day will be charged. If another booking cannot be honoured, a second hire charge will be levied.

Alterations and manufacture will only be undertaken after receipt of a deposit, which is non-returnable. Manufactured goods remain the property of Dress The Part until full payment is received.

Costumes can only be reserved on payment of a holding fee.

All hired costumes remain the property of Dress The Part.

No warranty is given as to safety, historical accuracy or suitability for any particular purpose, of any costume. The hire is entirely at the risk of the hirer, to whom we accept no liability whatsoever and who will indemnify us against any liability that we may incur to a third party resulting from the use of the costume by the hirer.

Should any of these conditions not be met the deposit will not be fully refunded. It remains the discretion of Dress The Part to deduct any costs. Please note, you could be charged the full replacement cost of the costume and/or accessories. This is usually considerably more than the deposit.

Dress The Part accept no responsibility for any accidents which may occur as a result of wearing any costume, shoes or accessories.
